Cathy Oke

Dr. Cathy Oke is the Knowledge Broker for the CAUL Hub and is based at the University of Melbourne. Cathy has over 20 years' experience in the sustainability sector and holds a PhD in molecular science from LaTrobe University. Cathy has been a Councillor at the City of Melbourne since 2008, with portfolios including Environment, Transport and Finance & Governance. Prior to joining the CAUL Hub, Cathy was a research fellow at the Centre for Urban Research at RMIT University, and for 8 years Cathy worked in environmental education and events with the Kids Teaching Kids program. Cathy is the First Vice President of Local Government's for Sustainability (ICLEI), the leading global network of 1,500+ cities, towns and regions committed to building a sustainable future. On ICLEI's Global Executive Committee she holds the Research and Biodiverse Cities portfolios, and co-chairs the Knowledge and Research hub of Cities With Nature. Cathy is also a founding board member of Tipping Point Australia.
